Toni Cade Bambara (1939–1995) was a writer, social activist, educator, feminist, and filmmaker. The legacy of her contributions to the African-American literary canon have rightfully earned her the distinguished reputation of being not only a storyteller but an amazing truth teller.

The Center for Black Literature Turns 10 Years Old!

The year 2013 is a milestone year for the Center for Black Literature, as we are celebrating 10 years of Honoring the Literature of people from the African Diaspora. We are in the process of planning events for this anniversary and we are hoping our friends and supporters will help us to celebrate throughout the year.
